Abstract
The purpose of this article presented a critical analysis of the literature related to the attitudes towards, the knowledge of, and the use of complementary alternative therapies by health professionals in different countries such as Australia, North America and Europe. Overall, most of studies showed that health professionals had positive attitudes toward complementary alternative therapies but lack of knowledge and training related to these therapies. Although health professionals are increasingly becoming interested in adopting some complementary alternative therapies into health care practice, especially the nurses, they perceived a lack of organizational policies, resources and professional education to the administration of complementary alternative therapies. These included the efficacy and safety of various complementary therapies used in health care practice. With the increasing rate of use of complementary alternative therapies worldwide, the efficacy and safety of various complementary alternative therapies used in health care practice needs to be investigated through an evidenced-based approach. Moreover, further research should focus on the development of professional education around this topic and the effect this has on attitude and use.

摘 要
輔助另類療法近幾十年來已在全世界廣泛流行，這現象也衝擊到傳統醫療體系。本文之目的主要是藉由相關的文獻探討澳洲、北美及歐洲等地區的醫療專業人員對輔助另類療法的態度、知識及臨床使用的情形，也批判分析影響其態度與臨床使用輔助療法之因素，也希望藉由本文能提供給國內醫療專業人員對輔助另類療法有更清楚的認識。總論這些國外的文獻資料顯示大多數醫療專業人員對輔助另類療法呈現正向態度，但相關的專業知識與訓練不足是影響其對輔助療法的態度與臨床實際運用之主因。雖然有些醫療專業人員已經將輔助另類療法實際運用於臨床，但也了解本身所屬的工作單位或機構對於在臨床上使用輔助療法並無明確的政策，也缺乏提供相關的資訊來源，這包含了輔助療法的效果與安全性。因此，本文建議應設立輔助另類療法之專業課程，並以實證研究為基礎，評估輔助另類療法於臨床運用之效果與安全性。
